We chose the Golden Ball for a celebration of our mum's life because she loved the pub and we'd visited over the years. The staff were so kind and helpful, and did everything they could for us. We served a buffet for our guests, and everyone said they enjoyed the food. Thanks for helping make the day memorable. We'd recommend the pub. It has rooms too, though we didn't stay in them.

Those Yorkshire puddings were huge, and the roast potatoes and good range of vegetables made the Sunday roast delicious. A couple of us started with tasty starters, then we finished with two crumbles and a sticky toffee pudding, all lovely. The staff were friendly and looked after us well the whole time. We had a great lunch at the Golden Ball and will definitely return.

We had a lovely chat with Sarah and Amanda, and the staff made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. We also ate there in the evening, and the food was fantastic. We'd happily recommend the hotel and plan to go back soon.

Having a private room was a real bonus for our enthusiastic, noisy family, since we could celebrate without disturbing anyone else. It was another lovely family meal for a special occasion, with good food and lovely staff. Many thanks to everyone.

A cosy, warm place for a get-together, with a good range of beers and very good food in generous portions. The dining chairs are the weak point: some are grubby and stained and really need replacing. In a few spots the carpet feels a little sticky too. Still, it's a nice place to eat.
