We had a very peaceful, relaxing stay for the most part, in a beautiful spot beside farmland and the airfield. There was no aircraft noise at night or early morning, just occasional noise during the day. Watching the skydivers come down onto the airfield was fantastic. The campsite has large pitches, each with a picnic bench and fire pit. The toilets, showers and washing up area were spotless, in a rustic wooden block with the showers and toilets on either side. The shower water was hot and just right, but the flow only lasted a short burst, so I had to keep pressing or holding the button while washing with one hand. I understand the likely eco thinking, but the flow time was too short. There was also a small fridge and charging points and plugs for phones. The one thing that marred it was music from someone off site, probably somewhere on the airfield. At 2.45am, thumping bass rave type music woke me up and went on until 4am. I got up and walked a few hundred metres to try to find where it was coming from, but couldn’t see. It wasn’t the campsite owners’ fault, and it wasn’t anyone staying on site.

I stay at this campsite often, and it’s the best value site in the area. It’s peaceful, well maintained and has nice facilities. Management are easy to communicate with. The views out over the fields are lovely in the morning and evening. It’s beside an airfield used for skydiving, but aircraft are very rarely noisy.

Other than the music, I wouldn’t fault this lovely campsite. It was nice watching the planes and gliding. On Saturday night, I think the B&B was playing really loud bass music until about 4:30am. The campsite has to have its music off by 9pm and it can’t be loud, but this woke every camper, even our friends who sleep with earplugs in.

We loved watching the skydivers. Don’t be put off by the nearby airfield, the planes are all very small and it’s fun watching them take off. The facilities were very clean and the views lovely. It was quiet midweek, then busier over the weekend, but there was still plenty of space. Great campsite!

A gorgeous setting and a lovely country house. I arrived late, and the check-in instructions were brilliant. The rooms, dining area and lounges were beautifully laid out, very clean and tidy. We had a perfect night’s stay and a continental breakfast. Certainly recommend!
