Alexandra Lodge

Alexandra Lodge was our favourite of the eight places we stayed during our honeymoon in Scotland. It was quiet just off the main road in Edzell, but only a minute's walk from the town centre. Jennifer was so friendly and accommodating, suggested things to do nearby, and made a fantastic breakfast. Our room was clean and comfortable.

I only stayed one night for a wedding, and couldn't see much of the area, but Jennifer and her husband made the whole trip feel easy when it could have been stressful. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean, and the bathroom was clean too, well equipped, with a great shower. They helped me plan everything around the wedding and my early airport trip. Before I arrived, they warned me there was only one taxi driver locally and gave me his number so I could book ahead. They drew a map and explained how to get to the venue, then advised me about journey time and traffic so we wouldn't miss our return flights. Since I was leaving at a very early hour and would miss breakfast, they left a lovely packed lunch in the mini bar.

I've stayed here several times and it's been superb every time. The B & B is well equipped, Jen takes great care of her guests, and the breakfasts are brilliant. I'd happily recommend it to anyone visiting Edzell.

It's been years since I visited, but I still remember it so clearly. The breakfast was amazing, especially the strawberry jam, and Alex was great fun to spend time with. On my birthday we played badminton close to midnight and watched James Bond together. I hope everyone is doing well. I'd love to come back someday and introduce you to my kids.
