Maunsel House

I’m looking forward to photographing weddings at Maunsel House in 2025 and 2026. The gardens have lovely tucked-away corners and romantic paths, with so many possibilities for photos. Inside, the historic house has elegant rooms and lots of character, from its ivy-covered walls to its distinctive spaces. The staff were so helpful throughout the planning and wedding day, and took care of all the personal details we wanted. Michaela and Sandra were especially professional and helped everything run smoothly. We loved having the house to ourselves for the weekend. It’s large enough to sleep almost half our guests, so we made the wedding a whole weekend, and held our wedding breakfast at the pergola, probably our favourite part. The grounds and house are both stunning, with charming, quirky touches inside. From our first visit, when we parked outside Maunsel House, we had a special feeling about the place. It really was a fabulous venue.

We especially enjoyed the house tours, which gave us fascinating insight into its history. There’s lots to do, from walking around the countryside and fishing in the estate lakes to relaxing in the gardens. The staff were attentive, professional and genuinely warm. The rooms each have their own character and pair classic decor with modern comforts. The setting is lovely, with maintained gardens and countryside all around, and the ivy-covered architecture is striking. Maunsel House felt steeped in beauty, history and charm from the moment we arrived. It’s an English country house where we felt welcomed like guests in a friend’s home. We see plenty of wedding venues, and Manuel House has a homely feel compared with the branded, corporate places. The bar is totally unique, but I won’t spoil the surprise, and the house is full of quirky treasures. Food is always good, and the staff are consistently friendly and helpful. There’s lots to explore, and plenty of parking for guests. Last time we checked, there was no noise limiter, which matters if you’re booking a band. We’d recommend Manuel house for weddings or other functions.
