We came away feeling refreshed after two nights in the beautiful Dorset countryside. On our second night we had a lovely Italian meal, and everything we ate was healthy and nutritious. It’s a good place to take a break from the busyness of everyday life and switch your phone off for a while.

The food was vegetarian, plentiful, nourishing and extremely tasty, and my room was spacious and comfortable with a lovely view across the grounds. I spent a fantastic weekend here on a course, with several courses running, including foraging and hedge laying. The grounds are stunning, and the staff were kind, attentive and very friendly. I’d highly recommend a stay, whether you’re after time away or an adventure.

I came away feeling recharged after a peaceful stay at Monkton Wyld Court. The community-led atmosphere and the rustic vegetarian food were lovely, even for this meat-eater. Its quirky, time-forgotten rooms and the chance to connect with nature make it a great country escape from modern life.

Dear Monkton Wyld Community, Thank you for such a wonderful time. Everyone in our group loved Monkton Wyld and the nature around it. The rooms were beautiful, the food was healthy and delicious, and the staff were really attentive. Thanks as well for looking after our needs so carefully. The atmosphere and the place were just right for what we needed: a chance to form our Biodanza tribe community, based on respect for life and honouring the sacredness of life, each other and nature, with Biodanza workshops and pampering each other in nature. Your attentiveness also made organising things easier and helped everything run smoothly. Please thank everyone in the community. The participants absolutely loved the place! And to confirm, our date for next year is 23-26 May 2026.

I’ve been coming to MWC for nearly a decade, and I always leave feeling healthier than when I arrived. The vegetarian food is rustic and some of the most delicious I’ve ever eaten, even for a card-carrying carnivore like me. The rooms range from single-bed dorms to private doubles, twins and family rooms. They all feel like stepping back in time. It’s not the place for luxury, but if you want good value, country retreat vibes and minimal fuss, it fits the bill. Monkton Wyld Court is a wonderfully quirky, sustainable B&B run by a community on the Devon/Dorset border, a few minutes’ drive from Lyme Regis and the Jurassic Coast. Come here to get away from modern life, reconnect with nature and slow down.
