The Greyhound Wetherspoon

I’d never stayed in a Wetherspoons before, and this was amazing. The room was incredible, with so much space and a very high ceiling, and it was very reasonably priced. Food wasn’t included, but there’s a bar downstairs where you can get some, and tea and coffee facilities in the room. The staff were friendly and polite. I’d definitely stay again.

We stayed for two nights over Easter. The breakfast choices were very good, though the food often arrived cold. The room was really cold too, as the heating seemed to be off from late evening until morning despite the very cold weather. Our shower didn’t work properly. We told the staff, but were advised that a maintenance engineer was unlikely to visit over the Bank Holiday, and changing rooms was the only option. Such a shame. Would I go back? Probably not.

We had a lovely stay in an amazing room. The only hiccup was a mix-up with our breakfast order. Nicola, the girl who attended us, went to get her video recorder because she felt we were overreacting. Other than that, we had a lovely stay.

The burger was fine, but nothing special. It’s still the usual good value. On a chilly day, though, try not to sit by the entrance while people keep leaving the door open. A door closer would help keep the drafts out.
