The breakfast was good, especially with the chef singing in the background, which was a highlight, and a wonderful waitress. We had a short stay at drakes, just steps from the beach. Our sea-view room was very pretty. If you can choose, I’d ask not to be on the ground floor, since it’s right by the road and feels a bit overlooked. There was also some noise from the recycling bins and people using the front door. The second photo shows what I mean if you zoom in.

I haven’t stayed at the hotel yet, but it looks lovely and is really well placed if you’re spending a few days in Brighton. I used the booked parking space yesterday, and the man at reception was pleasant and very helpful when I arrived. I’ll definitely use that service again.

I left after one night and had to find somewhere else to stay. The room was dirty, outdated and poorly maintained, with old ingrained stains on the carpet, bathroom glass and even the toilet. It fell far short of basic cleanliness and hygiene. The room also looked nothing like the listing on Booking.com. The pictures gave a false impression, and the mismatch felt like deliberate misrepresentation. I paid around £500 for two nights, then spent only £10 more on a clean place that matched its listing. The experience ruined my mood and stay, and wasted my money and time. I expect an explanation for the misleading advertising and the state of the room, plus fair compensation for the inconvenience and extra costs.

The location by the pier is good, and the bed was comfortable. But I wouldn’t stay again. The room was smaller than I like, the sides were sticky, and the toilet was in the shower. The windows were frosted or blocked, so there was nothing to look out at. It was my third hotel that week and didn’t meet my expectations.

Brighton is easy to get around on foot, and there are great nearby amenities. We had a relaxing stay here in December, with lovely views from the hotel and very friendly, attentive staff. Highly recommended 😍
