White Hart Hotel

Sue, the owner, gave me everything I needed and even drove me to the station when I couldn't get a taxi. Breakfast was fantastic, the shower was powerful, and the bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get up. It’s centrally located and surprisingly quiet, apart from the sea chicken chorus in the morning. At first it looked like an old pub with old rooms, but the greeting was friendly. It may not be a five star hotel, but it was worth every bit of the five star rating I gave it.

The staff were lovely, and so was breakfast. The room and bedding were clean and tidy. There was some noise from the bar below and the plumbing, and maybe the earplugs on the tea tray were a hint. I’d stay again if I needed a one night stay.

The noise went on until 3.30am, so getting any sleep was impossible. The WiFi didn’t work and apparently hasn’t for more than two years. Worst hotel I’ve ever been to. Do NOT book!

The room was comfortable, clean, and had everything I needed, including WiFi, though the connection was a bit ropey. The cooked breakfast helped make up for the lost sleep. On a Saturday night, the busy bar downstairs played loud music until 02:30, and it was after 3am before the revellers had dispersed and I could sleep. Don't expect a quiet night, especially at weekends. Would I stay again? Only on a week night.
