Holiday Inn Brighton Seafront by IHG

Breakfast was very good, and checkout was smooth, with a late checkout offered for 12noon. The room was clean, with crisp bedsheets, a clean bathroom, plenty of desk space, and a lovely side view of the sea. Check-in was easy too. Fiona at reception was really friendly and helpful, gave great customer service, and even upgraded us for free. I was very impressed with the hotel. It’s in a great location with plenty of paid parking.

The breakfast was a fantastic spread of fruit, cereal, and English breakfast items. We also loved the delicious pancakes, made to order. The room was comfortable, the service welcoming, and there was a nice selection of herbal teas in the room. Parking was tricky because the spaces were small, but manageable as some were empty. One thing to know: payment for “24 hour parking” starts from the hotel’s 4pm check-in time, not from when you personally check in. We only found that out at checkout.

The restaurant food was pretty good, but waiting for it was another story. Our starters took nearly an hour, even though only two other people were dining. I had to ask three times for drinks, then wait another hour for the mains. When I went to pay, I stood at the bar for almost 15 minutes before anyone came over. The seafront location is great, but the hotel was freezing. The heating and air conditioning seemed broken: bedroom controls showed a service image and the units blew cold air straight onto the beds. Oil and electric radiators were plugged in all over the place. I slept fully dressed under the blanket and still woke shivering every 20 minutes. By morning, my throat was sore from the cold air. We had several rooms booked, and they were all the same. We won't use Holiday Inn’s again.

We felt really well looked after here, and the sea view from our room was awesome. Laura and her team deserve a huge thank you. Safe parking and breakfast were big factors in choosing the hotel, and both were excellent. Breakfast was superb, with everything you could want. The hospitality and customer service are No.1. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay.
