The location made it easy to explore Bristol, with shops and restaurants nearby and a park and tower right next to the hotel. The room was nearly perfect, and the living room really stood out with its chandeliers and furniture. It felt extraordinary, while the bedroom was fairly standard by comparison. I’d hoped it might be more impressive, but it did the job and I slept well. I also found some hairs in the shower and on the mattress, though it didn’t bother me much at the time. Breakfast had plenty of main dishes to choose from, including vegetarian options. The staff were reasonably polite, but no one acknowledged me when I arrived. I really needed the escape, and the hotel became a lovely part of my Bristol trip.

The team at the Berkeley Square were really friendly, and breakfast was very good. We had a lovely, quiet weekend stay while shopping. There was a bit of city noise, as you’d expect from the location, but it never got too loud. The extra space was great, the bed was super comfy, and I loved the cute kitchen area. The projector made for a fun little mini cinema too. We had a great stay and will come again.

The halloumi at breakfast was very good, but the stay was a frustrating experience. I’d called before booking to ask about a lift and parking because we were travelling with an infant. I was told there was a lift and booked during that call, but no one mentioned that our suite was in a separate building without one. It was on the top floor, so we carried our baby, stroller, and all the luggage up 6 flights of stairs. Our SUV also didn’t fit in the hotel garage, so we had to park on the street. The room felt cramped even with a separate living area, and much of the decor seemed made for photos rather than use. There was complimentary pasta in the kitchenette, but no pot big enough for it and no strainer. When I asked for paper towels or a dish towel, I was told they didn’t have either, and asked what I needed them for. The fridge was packed with items for sale, leaving no room for our things. With the low ceiling, I had to crouch to get into bed, and I’m only 5 foot 3. I’m not sure why this is listed separately from the Berkeley Square Hotel, since they’re the same place.

The reception staff were brilliant. I’d forgotten to arrange parking before we arrived, but they quickly found me a space in their private garage. My room was well appointed and decorated to a very high standard, and we had a fantastic stay at the Berkeley Suites last week. It was our first visit to Bristol, and the hotel’s location was great for Clifton Village and the harbourside. We also found Southville, where the street art on display for Upfest was amazing. Definitely worth checking out.

Right in the heart of Bristol's charm, the location was fabulous. The Newley renovated suite was breathtaking, with a touch of luxury in every corner. The Berkeley Suites were a real gem, and the team went out of their way to make my stay memorable, offering helpful suggestions and making sure things were just right. Thank you Paris!!
