Mclaren House Seahouses

We stayed five nights in apartment 6, right in the centre of town and only a short walk from the harbour. It was clean and lovely, and although it's above an amusement arcade, I never heard any noise from it. I had my dog with me and we both felt at home. It felt safe, but as a solo traveller I'd have preferred a lock or key code on the main outside door and an extra bolt on the apartment door inside. That's just my preference.

Ben was incredibly helpful when I booked our stay at McLaren house apartments, and the place lived up to expectations. It's in a fantastic spot for Seahouses, clean, spacious and equipped with everything we could think of needing in a self-contained apartment. Both windows have a great sea view. My family will certainly be back. Well done McLaren House apartments.

The apartment was comfortable and quiet, with two bedrooms, one double and one single. It's centrally located on the main road into Seahouses, above the amusement arcade, and up two flights of stairs with no lift. The kitchen was well equipped with a cooker, hob, dishwasher, microwave, washer-dryer, fridge and freezer. The bathroom was nice too, with a spa bath and shower over it.

The kitchen was so well equipped that we made a few meals there, and the simple decor made it easy for us all to spend time together after days out. We stayed four nights, visiting Holy Island, Bamburgh, Alnwick and St Abbs, then spent evenings in Seahouses. Neptune's fish and chips were great, including the gluten-free option. We also enjoyed the sunny terrace at Bamburgh Castle Inn and Thursday quiz night at Longstone House Hotel, about a 15-minute walk away. The parking permit saved us money. When you arrive, unload first, then park behind the Italian restaurant by the Isieme signs and take the cut-through to Main Street. It's about a two-minute walk back, and the first hour is free. After unpacking, take the permit back to the car for free parking for the rest of your stay. The place was spotless and full of thoughtful extras, like fresh milk in the fridge and complimentary toothpaste. The kids' room has two single beds and an en-suite; we used the double room and downstairs bathroom, and everyone was happy. One of the best holiday lets we've stayed in.
