We loved exploring the area, with pubs and clubs just minutes away and several restaurants close by. The Higgihaus on Clare Street is right across from Honest Burgers and close to everything. Our apartment was well equipped, from HDMI cables to a dishwasher, microwave, fridge, really sharp knives and plenty of pans for cooking. There were lots of towels, a little cloakroom, and the comfiest bed with a ladder I’ve ever slept in. The room itself was wonderful, with nice lighting, inspiring messages and fluffy pillows. The staff were friendly and helpful, and this became our favourite place to stay in Bristol. The price was affordable compared with the hotels and other places we looked at. If we need somewhere in Bristol again, we’ll come back.

The location is good and the rooms could be good too, but some things were untidy, broken or unhygienic: the refrigerator, the shower head and moldy sugar, for example. Cleanliness, functioning equipment and room amenities don’t seem to be priorities. There are loads of dumbbells, apparently for weightlifting, and a sound system with controls that are hard to understand, so the focus seems a bit off. The bed was clean and comfortable. Customer service through chat was at least friendly and tried to help.
