We booked two nights for our anniversary and had a great first stay here. We arrived early on Friday in foul weather, expecting to leave our suitcase and head out, but our room was ready and we could check in straight away. Our standard double was spacious, with a big inviting bed and one of the nicest hotel bathrooms I've come across in a while. It had a roll-top bath and walk-through shower. I have mobility issues, but although there was a step into the shower, a wall handle and non-slip mat made me feel secure getting in and out. The supplied products were top notch. There was also a usable fridge, unusual for a UK hotel, and a carafe of complimentary water. I slept very well. We'd booked Friday dinner in advance, and it was lovely. The wait staff were friendly and professional. We also visited the bar a few times. Everyone there was a joy, and the staff knew their beers, wines and ports. I appreciated their suggestions, and we were happy to try some of the cocktails. On Saturday we sampled the excellent bar food. We didn't try afternoon tea, but it looked excellent. If we're back in Bristol, we'd book here again without hesitation. From housekeeping to front of house, bar and restaurant, everyone we met was lovely and a credit to the hotel. The management has built a special team. Top marks all round.

We were in town for a concert at the Beacon and only stayed the night. The hotel was lovely, with friendly, helpful staff and a large, comfortable room with a big bathroom. There was some street noise, but I suppose that's part of being so central. I also really enjoyed the full English breakfast. Wish we'd had more time. Highly recommend it for a quality hotel in central Bristol, near Bristol Beacon.

We came back for our second Christmas stay. Christmas Day three years ago was pretty chaotic, but we enjoyed the visit enough to be happy to return. This time, the room, service, staff, and restaurant were excellent. On Christmas Day, Buddy The Elf (Cosmin), Alessandro (Alex), and all the restaurant staff looked after us superbly. I rarely write reviews and am used to complaining about service these days, so I feel I should say a very big thank you to everyone at The Hotel du Vin Bristol City for taking such good care of us. Thank you, Phillip Phillip & Peter Christmas 2025

We were in Bristol to visit family for Christmas, and the central location made a perfect base for meeting up with people within travelling distance. Staff were friendly, relaxed and accommodating. The rooms were surprisingly plush and spacious, and the upgraded suites feel very upmarket with loads of room. Even the standard rooms were stylish and well equipped. Ours had a fantastic bath and a large shower room, 10/10. Comfortable bed and pillows made for a great night's sleep. The food at Bistro Du Vin was superb, moderately priced and genuinely excellent. I'm quite discerning and couldn't fault it. There's also a wide choice of cocktails, bottles, ciders, wines and champagne, and the coffee was really nice. And yes, it's dog friendly. I liked the atmosphere at our Christmas get-together. On crisp winter days, it was a lovely spot for a walk along the River, a look around the coffee shops, or a visit to Brunel's SS Great Britain. We'd love an excuse to come back soon. 🤩👌

The Sunday Lunch at the Bistro costs £39.99 per head. The market table was the best part, with a good choice of salads, charcuterie and fresh bread. The main dishes were disappointing, though: the meats were bland and the turkey was dry. Service was uneven. Reception didn't give us any parking advice, and the man at the front desk and bar was abrupt and unwelcoming. The other wait staff were pleasant, but very slow. A table next to us ordered dessert after we did and got theirs first.
