Mollie's Bristol

We ate at the onsite diner with family. It’s easy to get to from the M5 and conveniently near Cribbs Causeway. The menu isn’t huge, but it had enough for us. We had a chicken Caesar salad, a burger, and American hot dogs, all of which were nice; the milkshakes were especially good. The toilets were clean and accessible, and the staff were friendly.

The bunk room worked well and was really comfortable, though there was no kettle, so we had to go into the corridor for hot water. Cold water was available there too. I went with my adult daughters, one of them celebrating her 21st birthday. We drove into Bristol and found parking easily, since permits are only active on weekdays in most places. The location is good for the mall and all the shops. It was a bit noisy, but I sleep with earplugs, so it didn’t bother me.

The breakfast was excellent, and the drinks were just as good. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted great. We went with our son for his birthday, and the service was spot on. We really appreciated the sparkler in his pancakes. It’s been a while since our last visit, but we’ll be back soon. Great value!

The pancakes looked good and tasted great, though they were a bit stingy with the bacon. The Eggs Royale also looked appealing, with two muffin halves, eggs, salmon, and hollandaise on a large plate, but the serving seemed small and the eggs were a bit snotty. I didn’t complain, ate around that, and mentioned it to the server when our plates were finally cleared. They just nodded. Our latte came in a small glass that was too hot to hold, so we had to leave it to cool. We waited 20 minutes for the bill and had to ask again. It’s a nice setup, but the food preparation needs attention. It was quiet at 9:10 when we arrived after travelling from Newport, then got busier as hotel guests came for breakfast. There were two of us and we ordered pancakes with bacon and Eggs Royale. Would I go again? Maybe.
