It’s only a five minute walk to Cabot Circus, and the hotel is wheelchair accessible. The room was large, with a great shower, different lighting options, and a comfy spacious bed. I’d messaged beforehand, and staff decorated it with balloons for my partner’s birthday. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and answered all our questions. There’s luggage storage if you check out early and want to see the city. The spacious bar and foyer have everything you might need, including a pool table and photo booth, and drinks are available 24/7. Pets are allowed, which I loved because I got to see the dogs. The only downside was the loud traffic, which isn’t the hotel’s fault. I’d absolutely visit again!

The room had quality fittings, and I liked the two lighting settings. The bathroom was modern and very clean. The mattress felt firm to me, while the pillows were soft. I could hear pounding bass from the nightclub across the road between about midnight and 2 a.m., but I slept well after that.

The hotel had a great vibe, trendy-looking rooms, and a lovely dinner menu with lots of choice. But our finished plates stayed on the table all night, and nobody cleared them. Later, when I got ready for bed, the sheets looked creased. I lifted the blanket and saw this. Either housekeeping hadn’t bothered making the bed, or the room hadn’t been cleaned properly. It was too late to change rooms, so I showed management my photos. They weren’t very apologetic. The smoke alarm light flashes on the ceiling every two minutes, so wear an eye mask. Breakfast was okay.

We’ve stayed in a mozy before, so we knew what to expect. The rooms were big and comfortable, with all the amenities, and we got a surprise birthday message on the mirror with balloons. Check-in took a while because it was very busy, even though we arrived before the stated time. One thing that annoyed me was not getting the two free cocktails listed on our card, as our friends did. I thought I might get them for my birthday, but they’re only the house cocktail anyway. Leaving was slow too, with just one person handling drinks and checkouts and no express checkout box. The car park is a two-minute walk across a big main road and costs £20 for 12 hours. For a hotel to offer no discount seems quite bad. I’d probably stay somewhere else next time I visit Bristol.
