The cottage has plenty of room and is well equipped, with a washing machine, oven, fridge freezer, microwave, toaster and kettle. There’s also a recently installed shower. We’ve enjoyed the peaceful setting and the woodland on the property, which you can explore. The owners have been lovely and helpful. It’s a little out of the way, though shops are only a short drive off. We’re here for our last night and would definitely recommend staying.

The decor could do with a refresh, it feels a bit dated. Still, I had a comfortable three-night stay and thought it was good value for money.

The owner gave me a very friendly welcome. My room was clean, comfortable and tidy, even if the decor is a little dated. It had tea, coffee and hot chocolate making facilities, plus a microwave if needed. The setting is quiet, with good road access, and it’s handy for Chippenham, Corsham, Melksham and Devizes. I’d recommend a stay.

The couple were lovely and friendly, and the surroundings are nice, with the option to have a BBQ. Inside, though, the lodge really needs updating and a proper clean. There was a plug socket coming away from the wall, and the carpet was stained. If they’re going to welcome pets, wooden floors might be more hygienic.

I couldn’t sleep in the bed, so I didn’t stay. The mattresses were so soft that I could clearly feel the large springs underneath when I pressed them. The room I was given looked nothing like the photos and description, and it was very dated. Nobody was there to meet me, so I couldn’t give my opinion in person. When I emailed the owner, he was curt and rude. He wouldn’t consider a refund and said the mattresses were perfectly serviceable. Yeah? No. Avoid this like the plague.
