The reception team were lovely and always made sure we had what we needed. Our Christmas Eve request for extra towels and teabags seemed to get missed, but it was a busy morning, and we were looked after anyway. I’d happily stay again if I’m in the area. The room was a good size, fairly quiet and comfortable, and probably the cleanest, freshest-smelling hotel room I’ve stayed in, despite being one of the cheapest. I hope they keep airing the secondary double glazing and make sure the shower extractor works, since condensation took several hours to clear. The accessible room worked well, though the shower seat felt a little loose on the wall. A fire alarm went off just after midnight, probably because other guests were smoking in their room, so I can’t really blame the hotel for that. A shelf or drawer for clothes, a coat hook, and a towel hook in the shower room would be useful, even in a budget hotel.

We needed to add an extra night because of work, and it was easy to arrange. It cost just £39, which felt like a bargain. The room was clean, fresh smelling and very accessible, and the reception staff were really helpful. There’s a Co-op close by, several places to eat, and we had a fab Greek meal around the corner at 34a, which I’d highly recommend. The hotel is near the train station, with bus stops outside for getting into Bromsgrove centre, and parking is free. We stayed in Accessible Rm2 and wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

The room looked clean and fresh, as if it had been newly built or refurbished. It was simple, with a bed, chair and table holding the TV and kettle. There were USB ports and a small floating shelf on both sides of the bed, plus plenty of plug sockets around the room. The bathroom had a bath with shower, basin and toilet. The floor gets wet easily and can be slippery to walk on. Parking was awkward because the hotel shares a car park between two pubs and finding a space was difficult. For free parking, you need to register your car at the Travelodge reception desk.

The room was basic, but it was available when we booked, and someone welcomed us at check-in. Parking was a bit of a problem since the building is beside a pub and the car park was quite full. We enjoyed our stay overall.

Housekeeping from Leanne, Page and Fiyuennla was absolutely first rate, and Georgina, Luke and Jordan were excellent at reception. An absolutely amazing Travelodge.
