Old Skool Accommodation

The welcome here is hard to beat. There was beer in the fridge and wonderful homemade cakes, and we felt at home and relaxed as soon as we arrived. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the en suites were excellent, and having shoe dryers in the rooms was a brilliant extra. We were fed really well, with a hearty breakfast and packed lunch for the trails. I’m lactose intolerant, but they catered for me and I was able to eat everything. We’ve made this our base for our annual mountain bike weekend for the second year running, and have already booked for next year. They’ve got secure bike storage, cleaning and lubrication products, and tools for basic repairs. When one of our group’s cranksets failed on the first day, the host even offered us the crankset from his own bike for the rest of the weekend. The only small snag was the Wi-Fi, which felt weak when all ten of us were online, often uploading photos and GoPro footage. Thanks so much for everything, and see you next year.

Breakfast was honestly the best full English I’ve had at a hotel or B&B, and that homemade cake was sublime too. Lewis and his wife were attentive hosts, happy to help with anything. The rooms and shared spaces were immaculate, with maps, magazines and snacks available, plus secure bike storage and cleaning facilities. We had a fantastic one-night stay with three others. The place is ideally located for nearby riding and walking trails, and we’d definitely come back.

Lewis and Dani, thanks for a memorable weekend. We were there for two nights, and everything about the accommodation was faultless. The food was great, and we were catered for at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our room was nice with a comfortable bed, and there was space and equipment for bike repairs and cleaning. We’ll be back to see you before long.

Lewis and Dani have thought of all the things you might need for a mountain bike break, even boot warmers in the room for rainy weather. They were great hosts. We had a really good two-night stay a couple of weeks ago, with Coed Y Brenin and the surrounding area making an excellent base for exploring. If a catered ski chalet for mountain biking in North Wales sounds like your kind of place, you won’t be disappointed. We’ll definitely return.
