The friendly young guy behind the bar helped us over the phone and in person. We only stayed one night while Storm Floris passed through because we couldn't sleep in our roof tent, and the hotel kept us out of the wind. Still, I can only give it two stars: the condition of the hotel doesn't match the prices. Screws were sticking out all over the bathroom, the TV didn't work because its aerial cable was hanging out of the wall, and the toilets made a horrendous noise whenever they were flushed during the night.

We went in for Sunday dinner, though we didn't stay at the hotel. The food was top notch and reasonably priced: I had the burger with Haggis and Whiskey sauce, and my wife chose the tagliatelle with smoked salmon. They also had good real ale on draft, which you don't see everywhere around here. The owner, who's also the chef, clearly puts in a lot of work. Very friendly and great service. Hope we can come back!

We ate here on a couple of evenings. The mains were generous portions, but at £9 each the desserts felt a bit pricey for what you get. Save the money and treat yourself at the ice cream parlour across the road instead.

The bed was comfy, the shower was good, and breakfast was delicious. Friendly, welcoming service as well. It's centrally located in Brora, with a car park across the road.

The room was huge and clean, and the beds were quite comfortable. The bathroom was very odd, though. I nearly hurt myself twice by tripping over a step on the way to the sink. The staff were the best part of the hotel. The owner was friendly, and I really enjoyed the morning banter over breakfast. In the evenings, I wasn't keen on the bar, where locals seemed to gather and look us foreigners over. I had the same experience when we stayed here eight years ago. The location is great, but there was no parking, so we had to use the nearby supermarket car park.
