The meal was really tasty, and the staff were friendly and attentive. We hadn’t booked for dinner for two, so getting a table on such a busy Wednesday night was a bit of luck.

The staff were so kind, and the food was delicious. My husband and I came for lunch for the first time on 5th December. We didn’t stay overnight, though a couple of people in our party saw the rooms and were completely blown away. It’s a beautiful hotel, and we’ll definitely be back. Thanks for the lovely atmosphere and service too.

The potatoes could have been crispier for my taste, but the rest of Sunday lunch was spot-on. We ate at the Stroppy Cow in the Black Bull Hotel, where the fresh broccoli, tasty parsnips and beautifully presented, medium-rare beef all hit the mark. The excellent service made it a thoroughly enjoyable meal.

We came back today after about seven years and had the best meal we’ve had in ages. The portions were generous and full of flavour, and the service was consistently super fast.

The roast potatoes were good, though I like them baked longer and a little crispier. Everything else was just as I like it: fresh, uncooked broccoli, lean beef cooked medium-rare, and tasty parsnips. We had Sunday lunch at the Stroppy Cow restaurant in the Black Bull hotel, and the very good service made the whole meal enjoyable.
