The old cottage is reasonably priced, even on Silverstone weekend, though mind your head. It’s a couple of minutes from Buckingham and close to Stowe, with Turweston for Silverstone parking about 5 miles away. I booked 6 months in advance. There’s off road parking and a pub opposite. My twin room had a dressing area and tea tray, plus a separate bathroom with a bath, toilet, basin and separate shower. Towels and everything else were provided. The English breakfast was lovely, and there’s a fridge for storing food to take to F1 on the other days.

The owners were wonderfully welcoming and friendly, and nothing seemed too much trouble. The gentleman even waited out the front so I’d be able to find the property.
