Surf Haven

We’re here for three nights and couldn’t be happier. Surf Haven is steps from Crooklets Beach, with an amazing tapas restaurant and pubs nearby. The rooms are well appointed, and the fantastic breakfasts come with all the extras: a mini fridge with fresh milk, homemade flapjacks, high-quality linens, and more. The real magic is Caroline and Peter. Highly recommend!

The location’s perfect, with lots of parking and everything within walking distance, and the owners have clearly put a tremendous amount of effort into this place. Caroline and Peter were amazing. Caroline welcomed us and kindly let us check in late after we got stuck in traffic. She showed us our beautiful room and offered hot drinks. It was immaculate, and I couldn’t find a single fault. Breakfast was exceptional, and nothing seemed too much trouble for these lovely owners. I’m genuinely amazed by the level of service. We’d absolutely come back in future. If I could give this place ten stars, I would. The hospitality is second to none.

Breakfast in the bright, spacious dining room was delicious. Caroline and Peter made us feel welcome and took such good care of us. Our twin room looked out over the golf course and had plenty of space, comfortable beds, crisp white linen, big fluffy towels, and homemade flapjacks. Surf Haven B & B is on a peaceful street, with parking behind the house or on the road out front. The beach is about five minutes away, and shops, Bude Castle, cafes and restaurants are an easy walk, around ten minutes into town. We loved the house's decor and the lovely views of Bude.

We arrived in torrential rain, and Peter and Caroline quickly took our coats and boots to dry. Such a warm welcome. The room was beautifully decorated, the beds were really comfortable, and the huge bathroom had a fantastic shower. The cafetiere coffee and flapjacks were a lovely extra, and breakfast was excellent too. My poached eggs were just right. Thanks for a lovely stay. I'd give more than five stars if I could!
