Downton Lodge Country Guest House

We’ve stayed here many times and it never lets us down. If anything, each visit seems better. We’ve introduced other people to this special place, and they understand why we keep coming back. We’ve tried plenty of B&Bs around the country, but none has topped this one. The location, rooms, breakfast, and Martin and Andrew as hosts all make it the best for us. Thanks again to them for knowing just how a B&B should be run.

Breakfast was fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared, with the care in the details really noticeable. Our room was spotless and spacious, and had everything I needed. The bed was comfortable, and the house is modern, stylish, and very well kept. Downton Lodge sits on quiet farmland, so the setting feels peaceful and tucked away, while Dartmouth and nearby attractions are still close enough. The hosts know the area well and gave us great suggestions for walks, places to visit, and places to eat. From the moment we arrived, they were warm, friendly, accommodating, and clearly passionate about what they do. I felt well looked after throughout our stay. We stayed from Friday until today, and it was one of the best B&B experiences we’ve had. Downton Lodge brings together lovely surroundings, welcoming hosts, and beautiful rooms. We’ll recommend it to friends and family visiting the Dartmouth area, and we’ll definitely come back. It’s a real gem.

We spent three nights here and had a lovely break. Andrew and Martin were wonderful hosts, and the hospitality was fab. The rooms are beautiful, spotlessly clean, and well maintained, and breakfast was delicious. The views are stunning and the location is peaceful, while still being not far from Dartmouth or Dittisham. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Thanks to Andrew and Martin for such a lovely stay!

The hosts were so welcoming and friendly, and the bed felt like a cloud. The hotel is lovely and stunning, with a great breakfast and everything super clean.
