The restaurant mix-up was the biggest disappointment. At check-in I asked when food orders stopped, and was told 9:45 pm, so I planned my evening around eating there. When I returned, the restaurant was shut and dark. Two staff members found me wandering around, and I felt pretty embarrassed. They understood when I explained what I’d been told, but the information was completely wrong. I’m glad I hadn’t paid for the evening meal and breakfast discount, because I’d have been left very disappointed. It felt unfair to give guests bad information, especially when they’d happily have taken my money for food I couldn’t get. I also had a problem with the bath around 1 am. It leaked all over the bathroom floor, and I used every towel trying to mop it up. I wasn’t about to pack up and change rooms in the middle of the night. When I handed in my key card the next day, I was told I should’ve reported it and could have moved rooms. But who wants to switch rooms at 1 am? As the video shows, the bathroom was a mess, and I ruined my shoes cleaning up. I did report everything before leaving. The hotel was clean and tidy, and a bit newer than most Premier Inns I’ve stayed in. The car park is huge, and it’s close to the town centre with a restaurant on site. Check-in was easy, though finding the hotel wasn’t: the road has a sharp, winding turn. It’s very close to Burnley Football Club, so it’d suit away supporters. The price over Christmas was reasonable. Despite the problems, I’d stay again. It’s a tidy, clean place in a handy location, so it wasn’t all bad.

The staff handled the room complaint really well. They apologized and moved me, and the second room was much better. They also gave me free premium Wi-Fi, which was a kind gesture and appreciated. It barely got over 7 Mbps, though, and I’m glad I hadn’t paid for it. There’s no phone or data signal in the area, as I found out, and the staff confirmed it. If you need to get work done away from the office, forget it. This didn’t feel like the Premier Inn standard I know. The furnishings were very worn, and my first room didn’t seem clean. There was an open, half-full can of Diet Coke on the side with what looked like fresh chewing gum beside it. I don’t know how housekeeping missed that.

We came to Burnley Premier Inn for a funeral, and even though I had a fall, the staff were absolutely wonderful. Tom, Sydney, Melissa, Krystal, Isabell and Chelsea made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. A big thank you from me, my partner, daughter and grandson. Hopefully we’ll see you again soon.

Simon on Reception was so helpful when my husband left behind some really important property. Great customer service. Thank you, Simon, you’re a lifesaver!

This was the worst condition we’ve found at a Premier Inn. I’ve stayed with them regularly before because they’re usually a good standard, and we were here to visit family. When we arrived at 8 pm, the windows were open and the room was cold. There were no tea-making things in the room, so I went to reception for cups, tea, coffee and milk. The cleaning was poor: cobwebs hung from the ceiling in several places, there was black mould on the window frame and curtains, and more mould behind the bathroom taps. It clearly hadn’t been checked before we arrived.
