Holiday Lodge in Beautiful Welsh Rolling Hills

We hired two lodges for eight of us, and the place worked really well as a secure base in a tucked-away valley. It’s motorbike friendly, with good access to local pubs and plenty of options for walking, hiking or group rides. Our ride leader has been using the site for over 20 years. Excellent accommodation in a beautiful area.

The lodges were warm, secure and well equipped, and the pictures don’t really do the place justice. It’s lovely and very quiet, though a few miles from the nearest town, and this isn’t a coastal stay. A few things could make it work better for us: a gate and trellis or chicken wire around the balcony areas would let us out with our lead-only dogs, and coat hooks on the backs of all the doors plus a bathroom lock would be useful. Thanks to Jack and his mum for a lovely place.

A quiet, sheltered campsite tucked away from everything, and just right for a good night’s sleep. We stayed with friends over the weekend as a base for green laning. The showers and toilets were clean. A great little site, and we’d definitely come back.

The owner can prepare delicious food at excellent value if you order in advance, which makes the place especially handy for a club booking. There’s also a Club Room for evening get-togethers, including for groups with some people on the campsite. The five lodges feel quite private, are comfortable, clean, warm and well equipped, and the views are stunning. It’s a real gem in a quiet location.
