Travelodge Burnley

There’s no restaurant at this site, but other local places to eat are within 100 metres. On my trip, the nightshift staff member was very helpful with local knowledge. The room was spotlessly clean and everything worked as it should. Burnley sets the standard I’d want all Travelodge hotels to meet. An excellent place to stay.

I stayed for one night. The room was clean and comfortable, and getting into town was easy.

I knew it was only a one-star hotel, but it was barebones. The hallway smelled musty, and the old room I got had barely been cleaned. Dust on the top of the picture frame above the bed said it all, and there was a mark on the sheets too. I paid an extra £15 to check in a bit early, making £100 in total. Daylight robbery. The silly robot vacuum in the hall annoyed me as well, so I flipped it over and made it beg me to right it again.

There’s free parking right outside, which is handy, though spaces are limited. The hotel is near local amenities and opposite a garage, but it sits in a very busy spot by a junction and roundabout. We stayed one night, and as with other Travelodge locations, it was good value. The room was clean, with towels, a kettle, tea and coffee, and a comfortable bed; there was also an extra pull-out bed. Socket space is tight: the three plugs were already used by the TV, heater and kettle, so bring a multi-socket if you need more. There are plenty of USB ports, including 4 amp ones and a USB-C socket. The shower got very hot, but its water pressure was poor and couldn’t be increased.
