There was plenty of space in the room, with a shower, toilet and TV. Check-in was quick and easy, the service friendly, and the weekend price was good. The bed was comfortable, and when the room felt cold on the first night, I spoke to staff and they sorted it out. Just be aware that staff come in during the day to make the bed and top up the toilet roll if needed. I didn’t see that mentioned when booking or checking in. Booking was straightforward, and finding the place and parking were no problem. I’d stay again.

Clean, warm and comfortable, with more than you’d expect for the price. It’s close to the station, and the ride into Edinburgh is short and scenic. Please don’t tell too many people or the great value might push the prices up!

The area felt safe and was mostly quiet. The accommodation was roomy, clean and affordable, and the staff were very nice. The building is clearly very old, and the furniture has an old-school look, but it was fine. There was a TV and hair dryer, plus tea and coffee by the kettle and soap dispensers in the en-suite shower and toilet.

My partner and I paid £240 for two nights, and found human hairs all over the quilt. Looking more closely, there were hairs on the mattress protector and bedsheet too, plus pubic hair in the bathroom along with more head hair. Dust coated the headboard, the bedding was dirty, cables were exposed, and there were holes in the wall above the bathroom.
