The room was spotless, and the hotel had a bit of industrial character. It’s tucked away by the train station, and I liked the peaceful location. The pub across the car park looked tiny, maybe the smallest in the world, though I can’t say for sure. I took some photos, and it seemed to have its own little brewery nearby. Very cute. There also looked to be some decent takeaways close to the Travelodge if I’d been staying longer. Everything was a little better than I expected. The receptionist was really helpful, even giving me change for the car park when I didn’t have enough. It’s only £3. Breakfast was good quality for £9.95, and the dining area was nice, with some character to it. Good value for money. For the price, I’d give it five stars :-)

Amy at reception made my business stay easy and relaxing. She was genuinely lovely and went out of her way to help. The room was extremely clean, and the location was handy for work and travel. Good value for the price too. I had a really pleasant stay at this Travelodge Burton on Trent Central, and I’ll definitely come back if I’m in the area.

The staff were pleasant, and the breakfast deal had a good range of choices. The rooms were spacious, the bed was comfortable, and there was no noise from outside. Can't really fault the hotel.

The manager really stood out. She was friendly, helpful, hands-on, and went above and beyond. I even saw her outside picking up cigarette ends and rubbish with a bin bag. She clearly cares about the hotel and its guests. The dining room is beautifully designed, and the hotel as a whole is great. I’m looking forward to staying again and hope the little issues help as constructive feedback alongside the brilliant improvements to this lovely building. The recent cosmetic changes are very good: fresh carpets, clean spacious rooms, and everything felt more modern and cared for. I’ve stayed here several times over the years, and it seems to have changed hands a few times. The staff kindly let me check in early, which I appreciated. Breakfast was a bit awkward. I ordered it late at night, but both mornings the night team had left my payment off the list, so I had to prove I’d paid in front of other guests. It was embarrassing. Luckily, one staff member recognised me and confirmed it. The cooked breakfast was hot and decent. The machine’s apple and orange juice is honestly vile. I don’t see why they use that machine, since servicing, cleaning, and stocking it must cost more than putting fresh juice in jugs. The coffee machine looks impressive, but the coffee was very weak. Refilling the beans didn’t improve it. A warning if you get a back room: the trains at night kept my other party members awake. There’s nothing the hotel can do, but be aware. The car park is pay and display, £6 for two days, which isn’t bad.

It was the staff who made our stay. Amy was so welcoming and kind. At breakfast she even found a bin bag so my little girl could tidy up her rubbish. Tom was great too, helping me carry my bag to the room after it broke. The room was clean and comfortable. We arrived October 28th and had a lovely stay at Travelodge. Thank you both!
