OYO Vincent Apartments

I paid £155 for one night and was so disappointed. The room was tiny, much smaller than the photos led me to expect, and it wasn't clean. The floor was filthy and stained, there were wrappers lying around, and a dirty sticker on the worktop. There was an alan key at the bottom of the toilet bowl. The bedding felt cheap and had slipped halfway off by morning, and the bed was hard. We were on the ground floor, where it was chilly and noisy, with a leaky gutter for a view. I booked it as a birthday surprise for my partner and wish I'd chosen a hotel.

At 02.46 am on Friday 27th December, I should've been tucked up in bed, but someone had triggered the fire alarm and it had been blaring for 20 minutes. The receptionist had no idea how to switch it off. Even more alarming, pardon the pun, the fire service hadn't arrived. You have to wonder whether the hotel's alarm system is connected to emergency services. Poor, poor, poor. I wouldn't risk my safety by staying here or recommend it to anyone. The alarm was still going.

The location is good, but the room is small and uncomfortable, and most of it wasn't clean. There were still hairs on the bed, so it didn't look like the linen had been changed after the previous guests. The bathroom was dirty, the floor sticky throughout, and the kitchenware had dirt on it. Although the room was marked No Smoking, the whole place smelled of smoke. I called staff and nobody responded.

The room was tiny, and there wasn't even a rail in the wardrobe to hang clothes on. The shower ran cold and the toilet wouldn't flush. After we asked about a callback when checking out, the hosts ignored us completely. This place was terrible. I wouldn't stay here.
