The room was fine for the price, though the oversized furniture made it feel smaller than it was. The hotel itself isn’t fancy, and that’s not why I’m giving it three stars. Dinner at the restaurant was a terrible experience. The food was forgettable, and something unfortunate happened that management didn’t address when we raised it. I won’t go into all the details, but I emailed privately with our concerns and gave them two chances to respond. They didn’t. I’d choose somewhere else in town for dinner. Before posting this, I emailed the hotel twice over two weeks and never heard back. I feel I gave them a fair chance.

The room was a good price, parking was good, and the hotel is really convenient for town. Staff were kind and helpful throughout, including at breakfast, and check-in was easy. Before booking, I asked whether the family room had a double and two singles. They explained that the double splits into two, so we could actually have four singles. They quickly noted that we wanted three beds, and everything was ready when we arrived. Excellent, thank you.

The website gave a very misleading impression. We booked two rooms because this place was on the way to the Humber View Hotel. It’s the same brand, but clearly a different company. Both rooms were dismal and dirty, with cobwebs. The baths had black mould and black mastiks, and mine also had broken tiles. Even the TV felt like a throwback to the 80s and only worked if you moved it around. Come on, Great Western, take a look at your Hull bridge view.

Our room was clean and lovely, and the staff were fantastic, friendly and polite. The restaurant food was delicious and freshly made. We had a lovely stay and would definitely visit again. Highly recommend.

The staff are really helpful, and the rooms were warm and clean. The shower was great. The hotel is getting a bit long in the tooth, though, and could use a facelift.
