We live less than an hour away, but it was lovely to explore what’s right on our doorstep. The room was very clean and had everything we needed, and the welcome was warm. It felt like home without the kids or chores. There are some nice places to eat nearby. We had a very nice meal at Horse and jockey, and found a new favourite spot for fish and chips in summer.

Diane was able to point us towards local cafés and restaurants, which helped make the stay just right. The room was very well equipped, and having cereal and fruit there made breakfast easy. Diane was welcoming, and we’d definitely recommend staying at Diane's to explore the area.

We chose the garden room, and having doors that open onto the back terrace made it feel much more spacious than it looks in the photos. It also brought in afternoon sunshine, and we spotted a local black cat walking past. The room was spotless, smartly decorated and quiet. The bathroom is modern, with a heated towel rail, excellent heating, very hot water and lovely-smelling foaming bath 'lotion' from Diane, so I could have a relaxing bath. Diane gave us a very warm, personal welcome when we rang the bell, which set the tone. She also shared details of local breakfast 'cafes' and restaurants when we asked. Her tone changed when she mentioned the Star Pub, so we went there for dinner, and it was a great choice. Breakfast supplies included plenty of cereal bars, bananas, tea and coffee, a kettle and a small fridge with mini milk bottles. Since covid, Diane has provided cereals and Oats so simple so guests can make a basic continental breakfast in the room. There’s a writing pad outside the door for leaving a message if you need anything. Blossom House sits in the middle of this delightful village. With no yellow parking lines, it’s easy to park, though perhaps less so when summer brings tourists in large numbers. Thanks, Diane, for a lovely room and a warm welcome.

Diane gave us such a warm welcome, and the room was beautiful, spotless, quiet and really comfortable. The big, delicious breakfast kept us going all day. What a lovely weekend. We’ll definitely come back, and we’re already looking forward to it. Thanks for a wonderful time. 👍😁😍 Craig & Lisa Xx

Diane was such a friendly, lovely person, and the location is beautiful, not far from Bakewell. The bed and breakfast was first class, with a beautiful room and everything we needed. A lot of thought has gone into it. We’ll definitely be back in the New Year.
