The staff were very professional and promptly sorted out an issue. Anne the housekeeper was friendly and professional. I’d recommend staying here.

Pooch friendly, which was a bonus, and we loved our stay. The bed was really comfortable, though very high, and the ensuite was beautiful but small. We were in room 7, and the stairs are exhausting if you're on the top floor. Parking outside Compton GH is limited. I moved my car after the parking attendant at Braemar down the road made me nervous that he might damage it, even though his drive had plenty of parking for guests. Breakfast would be a great addition.

The shared bathroom was clean, tidy, convenient and well equipped, and the whole place was spotless. The rooms were nicely decorated, the street was quiet, and check-in was easy. The owner was friendly when arranging my arrival. My stay fell short mostly because of the noise. The walls are thin, and people in both neighbouring rooms kept me awake with loud phone calls and chatter late at night, then banging around early in the morning. The guest house could make its quiet policy clearer. Street sounds came through the single glazed windows too, so light sleepers should consider bringing earplugs. There was no breakfast, despite my expectation of one. My room was cold the first night, and I couldn't control when the heating came on. A staff member did bring me a blanket when I asked. There was no bedside plug or light, and the small dresser light didn't work. The tea and coffee setup was basic. The vintage TV barely worked and had only one channel, so it needs a new remote. With a breakfast option shown at booking and some attention to room maintenance, the place could be nice.

We had a great night and will definitely come back. The place was spotless, and sharing a bathroom wasn't a problem at all. They were very accommodating with my friend's dog, too. The staff were lovely, and the rooms are modern with beautiful decor and a very comfortable bed. There was plenty of tea and coffee in the room, plus toiletries in the bathroom. Pubs, bars, shops and restaurants are all within walking distance down the road. A lovely stay for the price.
