Meadow Lodge

The hosts were lovely, and we had a great stay in a spacious, comfortable room with a delicious breakfast. It was my first time trying Derbyshire oatcakes. The porridge was delicious too, and the boiled eggs were just right. I'd definitely recommend it.

Linda made us feel very welcome during our 3-night trip with my mum to the peak district. Meadow Lodge was ideal, with two bedrooms, amazing views, and en-suite bathrooms. The rooms were immaculate and comfortable. A small TV was in the bedroom, and there was a larger one in the shared living room, which we mostly had to ourselves when the other room's guests were out. The radiator kept us warm, and extra blankets were available. Breakfast was one of the best we've had: fresh fruit salad, then a full English, with pastries and other options we couldn't manage because we were so full. Linda left two complimentary slices of homemade cake outside our room each day, and the mini-fridge was stocked with drinks, including bottled water, diet cokes and beers. Because of COVID, the rooms weren't cleaned during our stay, but we could leave towels out to be changed. More tea, coffee, milk and biscuits were also left outside daily. There were hooks above the radiator for drying wet coats, which are hard to avoid in the peaks, plus a tray for muddy shoes. Parking outside was easy. We recommend Chatsworth House, Bakewell and Eyam, and had a lovely meal at Samuel Fox Country Inn, a 10-minute drive away. Tideswell village is very nice to walk around too.

We felt so welcome thanks to the lovely couple running this B@B. The accommodation was beautiful, the breakfast was very nice, and the teatime cakes were lovely too. They gave us great information about the area, including places to visit, eat and see. We'll definitely return and recommend it to everyone.

We felt very welcome at Meadow Lodge. The hosts are a lovely, kind and helpful couple, the room was clean and safe, and there was fresh homemade baking every day. The view was amazing, the breakfasts delicious, and it's close to all the attractions. If you're visiting Peak District, stay here. Thank you so much, David and Ola.
