We arrived early to a warm welcome, though the pub was very busy. Service was great even with just one person out front. We had homemade stew and Thai green curry, both excellent and generous portions. Their own beer was very good too. Recommended.

I found this lovely family-run pub after a solo hike in the Peak District left me in a stressful spot. It was getting dark, and I couldn't find transport back to the train station. Lee the owner and Dom, a staff member, were kind and welcoming from the moment I arrived. Dom kept up a friendly conversation and helped me feel safe and comfortable. Although they weren't officially open that day, they invited me in, gave me a warm drink and checked I was okay. Lee introduced me to his wife and kids, and you can see how much they care about their village and community. They put on charity nights and live bands to keep the community spirit going. They also offer accommodation, making it a cosy countryside stay. The nature around the Buxton area of the Peak District is stunning, but it's the people here who make the place special. I'd wholeheartedly recommend stopping by for a drink, an event or a room. Places like this are rare and deserve support.

We had a lovely birthday dinner at the Greyhound, where the food was delicious. Jenny made us feel very welcome when we arrived. She was covering the bar, taking orders, serving and clearing, but even though she was stretched, she stayed friendly and smiling. It's a nice pub and restaurant, and I'd definitely recommend it.

We stayed in two rooms over February half term and had a meal too. The rooms were clean, the beds really comfortable and the shower was great. It was cold outside, but the rooms were lovely and warm. We enjoyed the food, the beer was excellent, and the staff were super friendly and hospitable. Thanks for having us.

The family who own the pub are genuine and friendly. When we were running low during an adventure through the National Park, they helped us a lot and gave us a chance to recharge. It's a village focal point, with a lively evening crowd of all ages and four-legged friends. Great atmosphere and pleasant food.
