We came with three kids, so having a washing machine was an absolute must for us. The cottage had one, along with a fully equipped kitchen, and was warm, cosy, spacious and finished to a really high standard. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, and went out of their way to answer our questions and help when we needed it. Coed Mawr's setting was even better than we'd expected: rolling hills, sheep and newborn lambs, plus a lovely garden. It was peaceful and remote, yet close to Conwy and other beautiful towns. We had high hopes for the booking, and the location, cottage and hosts exceeded them all. We can't recommend Coed Mawr enough and will definitely be back.

One thing to plan for is the remote location: you'll need a car. There's a local pub within walking distance that serves food, but for more places to eat you'll probably need to drive to Conwy or Llandudno. We spent the weekend here and found the room clean, spacious and tastefully decorated, with a huge roll-top bath as well as a shower. The building is historic and beautiful, with views of the Welsh countryside from every window. Breakfast was among the best I've had at a hotel or B&B. We were charmed by the shelf of DVDs, especially these days when streaming is everywhere. The room also had a smart TV and DVD player. There were free toiletries for anything we'd forgotten and a well-stocked honesty bar with very reasonable prices. We hope to visit again.

Breakfast was delicious, with locally sourced produce, which we always appreciate. The nearby pub is an easy walk, and restaurants, places of interest and Conwy Castle are only minutes away by car. We had a fantastic stay at Coed Mawr Hall and will be back! Our spacious room had windows on two sides to take in the views, and the bed was so comfortable I wished we could have fitted it in the car to take home. Andrew and Beth were perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome. The house looks impressive as you follow the winding drive. Inside, traditional and contemporary furnishings sit together, and many original features remain. It's set slightly above the surrounding countryside, with lovely views.

The breakfast was one of the best we've had in a long time, and the room was amazing, with stunning views. Andrew and Beth were lovely hosts, so polite and friendly, and nothing seemed too much trouble. We can't thank them enough for a fantastic break. We'll be back!

We loved starting each morning with breakfast and the sun rising over the view of rolling hills, grazing sheep, streams and woodland. There were several good breakfast choices, and everything was delicious. Beth and Andrew clearly care about what they do, and that attention to detail showed throughout our stay. Coed Mawr Hall was the highlight of our four-week trip around Great Britain. The owners were warm and helpful, and the building itself is lovely, in the hills above the charming village of Rowen. Our deluxe king room was on the top floor, roomy and full of character, with beams and an angled ceiling. The bathroom looked new and had both a shower and a large freestanding tub.
