This was my second time here because Andrea, the manager, is so nice and the customer service is great. I arrived a little late this time, but my room was already made up. Can’t fault it.

We were staying four nights. A friendly staff member checked us in, asked what we wanted for breakfast, and showed us to the room. We’d booked a room with shared bathroom facilities, which were okay, though a little cold. In the morning we reported a wet wall in our room. They moved us straight away to another room, and upgraded us to one with an en-suite at no extra charge. The building could do with renovation, but our room was cleaned daily and fresh towels were brought in. All the staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included, served on time and hot, with decent portions. We’d highly recommend staying here. Thank you.

The breakfast at the nearby pub was excellent, with good food and very welcoming staff. The guest house was what I expected for the location and cost, and was well furnished, with a clean toilet and shower. The carpet could use a deep clean. I was looking for somewhere memorable while visiting my daughter at uni in Bangor, and Canarfon delivered. It’s a unique place with lots of history and a great location.

When my partner and I arrived on 26th of November for a one night stay, there was no ceiling light in our room. It took two tries to get a bulb that fitted and worked. We were asked right away what we wanted for breakfast, before we knew everything on the menu, and felt rushed to choose both our food and a time for the next morning. The shower facilities smelled, and the toilets weren’t clean. That evening we came back and found the carpet soggy beside the bed, and our clothes got damp. The mattress was extremely hard and uncomfortable, and felt broken. At breakfast the food and teas were only cold to warm, not piping hot. The portions were small, and the mushrooms were undercooked. It wasn’t worth the £60 we spent.

The staff were really friendly, and breakfast at the Anglesey was excellent every morning. That short walk over also made us feel part of the town. The place is right inside the medieval walls, just a minute from the Menai and the Castle.
