The Anglesey Arms Hotel

We had a really good meal here. The portions were generous, everything we ordered was full of flavour and cooked well, and the ingredients seemed fresh. The pub is clean and comfortable, with a pleasant layout for a meal or time with friends. The staff were attentive and friendly without hovering, and the atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming. I’d happily return and recommend it.

The location is the only positive thing I can say about this place. I went on a Monday lunchtime expecting to eat, since the website and Google said food was served that day. There was no sign at the pub saying food wasn’t available, and the app let me place an order without any warning. I paid and waited, but nothing arrived. There was just one staff member serving. When another couple came in, she spent her time chatting with them about her boyfriend being a chef and didn’t tell me food wasn’t available, even though she must have known I’d ordered through the app. I couldn’t get her attention, so I tried contacting the venue through its online form, which was no help either. I’ve paid for a meal I never got, and want a refund. Otherwise I’ll try to recover the money through the Small Claims Court. Don’t waste your time and money visiting.

The homemade chips were amazing, and the £2 a pint offer was great too. We visited over the weekend and found all the staff welcoming and friendly. The views are beautiful, and they’re very dog friendly, nothing was too much trouble for us. Llinos is a true gem. Thanks for looking after us, we can’t wait to visit you all again.

We booked a table for eleven of us and a dog on Easter Sunday, and had our food preordered because we were such a big group. The pub was clearly busy, but we were seated at a great table almost straight away and could settle in with reasonably priced drinks. The food took a while, and the servers apologised repeatedly, though we told them not to worry. It gave us more time to enjoy the atmosphere and family time. The meals were excellent, with huge portions and good ingredients. The roast dinners went down well, as did the ribs and chicken, and everyone enjoyed pudding. My chocolate brownie sundae was amazing. A lovely day out in a great spot in the heart of Caernarfon. We’ll be back soon.
