Breakfast was really good, and the staff were nice. The place was generally clean, with really nice beds and bedding, and I’d stay again. The heating was a small electric radiator that I couldn’t get to connect to the room thermostat, whatever I tried. It wasn’t a big problem, as the room wasn’t cold in February. They said they’d look into it.

We came in for the unlimited buffet breakfast and really enjoyed the food. It was high quality, hot and fresh. Scrambled and poached eggs were cooked to order, while the rest was help yourself, with croissants, crumpets, different kinds of toast, jam, honey, cereal, juices and refillable hot drinks, all for one fixed price. The atmosphere was relaxed, with soft rock playing, and the staff were very pleasant. The place was clean and calm. There’s plenty of parking and it’s easy to get to, but remember to enter your car registration on the touchscreen when you arrive to qualify for complimentary parking. I think soft play is £4.50, though it doesn’t open until noon. Otherwise, we’d come for breakfast during school holidays or at weekends.

The room at this Premiere Inn was clean and comfortable, as they usually are, but the food was inedible. I ordered fish, chips and peas, with curry sauce for an extra £0.99. The batter was soggy and tasteless, the chips nothing special, and the peas were like cold bullets. The sauce was like yellow wallpaper paste. When the waitress cleared my plate, she didn’t ask why 80% of the food was still there. I’ve got the meal deal but won’t be having breakfast. I’ll be surprised if my stomach isn’t off tomorrow. Looking at other reviews, it seems the food here is known for being very low quality.

The room was spotless, and the staff at reception gave us a warm welcome. They were friendly and really helpful, and the room had everything we needed. A lovely break away.
