The hostel's location by the lake at the foot of Snowdon is fantastic, with ample parking, a small but pleasant dining area, and very good staff. There's a bar, and they can serve breakfast or meals if you give advance notice. I found the rooms below average: they're in poor condition, need decorating, and the kitchen is very small. Mobile data signal is basically unavailable, so bring coins for the pay phone.

A perfect spot right by the lake, with a winding path into the woods behind the hostel. The beds were very comfortable, the breakfast was lovely, and the staff were great. There was a restaurant, plus a communal kitchen we could use, which was useful. The room was quite cold because the windows weren't double glazed.

It's a fascinating building with lovely grounds in an iconic location. House martins flit around, and unspoiled native woodland surrounds the hostel, with easy access to the lakeside. There are public and private bedrooms, a well-stocked library, and a members' kitchen with all the right equipment. The wardens were friendly and tolerant, and the relaxed staff let me charge my electric car through the window overnight. It's a great base for tourers, climbers, cyclists, and walkers. Wi-Fi would be helpful.

I stayed with a very large group, and the staff handled our schedule really well. The beds were comfortable, the staff friendly, and the location great. Some rooms have outstanding views towards Lake Llyn Gwynant. It's remote, with no nearby shops or services, though there is a bar. The car park for the Miner's Path, one of the most popular routes up Mount Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa), is about a ten-minute drive away. One of the best hostels I've stayed in, and we'll be back!

This is an old-fashioned hostel with the feel of a budget home from home, where you can leave your boots at the door. The location and views are amazing. It hasn't been refurbished, but you can see ongoing care and maintenance. Our bedroom was clean and warm, just what we needed, and the staff went out of their way to be kind and helpful. Very autism friendly.
