I loved the early walks around the two small fishing lakes with the dogs before breakfast, served at 7:30am. After a week there, we're all missing those peaceful mornings already. Breakfast had plenty of choice and was made with top quality local ingredients, and the service was excellent. There are lots of interesting places nearby too. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

Breakfast was delicious and freshly made, with options for gluten intolerance, Coeliac and keto WOE. My room is exceptionally clean, roomy and comfortable, with both a bath and a separate shower.

We spent the weekend in the Boathouse while we were in the area for a wedding. The pond and its wildfowl made for a lovely setting, and the owner was friendly. The cottage shows a little age in places, but it didn't spoil our stay at all. I'd happily come back for a week or two. Just give me a reason and I'll make that eight-hour drive again. Highly recommended.

We had a work meeting here, with quiche and salad for lunch, plus tea, coffee and cakes. It's a nice place, and there's a pleasant pond to walk around. I didn't see anything else, but it worked well as a meeting venue.

This was our fourth visit, and we keep enjoying the chance to switch off and relax. The farm, lake and sky are full of wildlife, though the ducks and geese do wake you in the morning, which is part of the fun. There are plenty of places to visit too: a large Tesco in Callington for groceries, the brewery in St Austall, the Dartington glass factory at Torrington, Newquay in north Cornwall, and Looe, about 45 minutes away. A lovely spot to chill out.
