Crystal Hotel

The rooms are a little dated, and I spotted several tears in the curtain fabric. They could use a bit of care. Still, I slept decently and was happy with what I paid, so I’d come back. The staff were warm and friendly when I arrived, and were happy to keep my luggage in their office.

The location is fantastic, just a 10-minute walk from the train station, with plenty of shops, restaurants, and convenience stores nearby. It’s clean, cozy, tidy, and good value for money. The receptionist was a lovely young woman, very friendly and patient. I’ll definitely stay here again if I visit Cambridge.

Being right in the city centre made it easy to get to most of the important places in Cambridge. The stay was convenient and comfortable, and both the room and washroom were clean. It did get a bit noisy in the evenings because of people visiting the restaurant.

I slept really well, with the walls seeming to block sound and the bedding feeling very high quality. The room itself was quite small, though. The location worked well for me, about a 30-minute walk to the town centre and 10 minutes to nearby grocery shops. My main issue was with the people managing the property: they were extremely unwelcoming, rude and passive-aggressive, except for the male staff member. I wouldn’t return or recommend it.
