Hillview Park

We were warmly welcomed and impressed by the property as a whole, including the room and facilities. We'd definitely book again if we're in the area.

We meant to stay one night, but enjoyed it so much that we asked to extend our visit, and hostess Catherine kindly let us stay three nights. Our original rooms were booked, so we changed rooms, which was no problem as every one was beautiful in its own way. Each morning she made a lovely breakfast with plenty of options, and her little helper took our orders very well. The breakfast view was calm and beautiful, a lovely way to start the day. Catherine also put together a book of activities and local information, which was useful and helped convince us to stay in the area longer. The rooms and ensuite bathrooms were spotless, fresh smelling and lovely, with no dust anywhere. Take a look at the handmade details on each room's ceiling. After nearly two weeks of travel, this was our favourite place to stay, and we'd definitely return. Catherine, thank you for having us. It was lovely meeting you and your little helper. The room was clean and spacious, and the host was accommodating. I'd give it four stars rather than five because the soundproofing is fairly poor. I could hear the guest next door moving curtains, handling clothes hangers and running the bathroom vent fan. It wasn't an issue since everyone was quiet after 2330, but it could easily become one.

The host was really friendly, and the clean, cosy room was easy to find. I enjoyed my stay and breakfast was delicious. A couple of changes could make it five stars: the washroom light would be better on a switch instead of automatic sensors, and the bathroom needs better ventilation. With the door shut because the light is automatic, shower steam condenses and leaves the floor wet. Apart from that, I had a good stay.
