We’ve stayed here a couple of times, and it works well whether you want to walk or drive into town. The staff are pleasant and accommodating. For my gluten-free needs as a Coeliac, the restaurant was one of the best I’ve been to. I’m used to places having no gluten-free cereal or toast bread, but this Premier Inn had both. They also gave me a menu listing allergens. Ada deserves a big shout-out: she took my order, made sure it was cooked fresh to avoid cross-contamination, and kept working non-stop, clearing tables, restocking the coffee machines, and looking after everyone with a friendly smile. Nothing was too much trouble, and for once I didn’t feel like a pain because of my dietary needs. Ada struck a great balance of warmth and efficiency. She remembered what I’d ordered, checked that I knew it hadn’t been forgotten, and made me feel confident eating there. That takes real skill.

Getting to the A14 and M11 was perfect from here, and the rooms were quiet and comfortable, with a good shower and a cosy bed. Check-in was chaotic, with a long queue and no automated screens. The restaurant downstairs was freezing, and the portions felt small for the prices. Breakfast was good, but there was a lot of waiting for cups, cutlery, and bread. I don’t think I’d use this hotel again.

Kayleigh, who served me, was outstanding and kept me updated throughout my time in the restaurant. I checked in late on Saturday when the hotel and restaurant were exceptionally busy. I ordered food from my table, then a few minutes later she told me there’d been an incident and the order would be delayed. Great customer service from her. Well done, Kayleigh, and Premier Inn. 10/10.

Helpful, pleasant staff, a good stay, and I was upgraded to a comfortable Premier Room. Breakfast had vegetarian food, including Quorn sausages. My one concern was that a man with Nazi tattoos was allowed to check in. I’d suggest denying accommodation to someone with swastikas on his head, neck, and hands, as that suggests sympathy with vile beliefs and philosophy.

The beds were really comfortable, and the toiletries were good too. Check-in and checkout were easy, with lots of free parking. It’s about 15 minutes into Cambridge. We didn’t try breakfast this time, though the price looked good, so maybe next visit.
