Turing Locke Cambridge

The staff were friendly and helpful, and even found me a plug converter. I had a big, clean room with a very comfortable bed, plus soap, shampoo, conditioner and a hairdryer. There was also a nice kitchen and a fridge. The supermarket, coffee places and restaurants are close by, and Cambridge is only about five minutes away by car. Driving in from London was easy. The hotel is outside Cambridge, which suited me, but I had to use the car park at £20 a day because I couldn’t find nearby alternatives. The gym was OK, although the treadmill felt suited to pros. I struggled to keep my 5.45 km/h pace, and saw other people have trouble too. It’s hard to keep it below 4.5 km/h, so perhaps some instructions would help. Excellent stay, and definitely where I’ll stay next time I visit Cambridge.

The rooms themselves are fine, but I’m going through sobriety and was given an alcoholic drink when I ordered a non-alcoholic one. Staff did nothing at the time and didn’t seem to understand how serious that was. I’m still waiting for a refund for my meal two weeks later, despite chasing it. The hotel is fine, but the staff have failed badly, and I’ll take this much further.

Being close to my son’s college made this hotel a perfect choice for me. The front desk wasn’t bad, though the staff weren’t especially friendly. There was a constant ventilation fan noise in the room, day and night, and it was incredibly disturbing. During my 11-night stay, they only did a partial cleaning on the eighth day, which was a bit of a letdown.

My family really enjoyed their stay at Turing Locke, and the apartments were comfortable, beautifully designed and well placed. Transport links, a supermarket, cafes and restaurants were all nearby. I booked studios and a two-bedroom apartment for our summer visit, and the team was incredibly helpful with the arrangements from the start. The reception staff were kind, welcoming and keen to help. When there was an issue with the kitchen sink, it was sorted quickly. I’d highly recommend it for a short trip or a longer stay in Cambridge.
