Breakfast was a bright spot, with fun, engaging staff and a generous salmon portion on the eggs. The full English went down well too. Dinner was good, though not as good as two years ago, and the service was slow with staff who seemed rather grumpy. We slept comfortably, but both rooms were too hot when we arrived. There were only enough towels for one person in each room, despite two guests, though reception sorted that quickly. The newer downstairs rooms are in better condition than the original wing.

The Barns was a lovely surprise for our friends’ wedding weekend. We stayed Friday and Saturday, and the wedding venue and day were perfect. The room was lovely and the beds really comfortable. Staff were very helpful, and the food was the best we’ve had in a long time. We even stayed for Sunday lunch. Well done, everyone.

My son and daughter-in-law got married at The Barns yesterday, and the whole event exceeded what I expected. It’s a splendid venue, just right for a wedding, and the food was delicious. The staff were friendly and so helpful, going above and beyond.

The food was really good, and I was impressed they served proper chips instead of the frozen kind most places use. We came in on a Tuesday afternoon for a late lunch, and the prices were excellent. I’ll be back soon and would recommend it to others.

Everything was spot on during our weekend stay at the Barnes Cannock for the premiere suite and an Elvis show, from the rooms to the food and service. A special thank you to Rachel, who went above and beyond to make our group of 10 feel extra welcome. We’ll definitely stay again. Thanks to all the hard-working staff 👏👏👏👏👏
