The room was basic, but perfectly fine for the price, and the bed was comfortable. The place is a bit rough around the edges. Staff were friendly and helpful. A lamp in the room would be nice, instead of having only the main light.

The best parts were the comfortable, clean bed and a friendly staff member who answered the phone quickly and brought toilet paper as soon as we asked. The guest house was also a convenient 15-minute walk from a shopping centre and a short drive from the city centre. We stayed one night in a studio while going out in Manchester. To get in, you have to call and have a staff member let you into the guest house. They require a £100 cash damage deposit, and a staff member checks the room before checkout so you can get it back. The room didn't match the photos. The bedroom looked unclean, with stains on the walls and a dirty floor, and the window wouldn't open for fresh air. The bathroom was much the same, with stains on the wall, no soap or toilet roll, and a broken toilet seat.

There was a strange smell in the hallway, but that was our only issue. The worker was lovely and very attentive, and getting our deposit back was straightforward. We stayed two nights, and both the room and bedding were clean. It's not somewhere to choose for anything fancy, but at that low price it's really good.

The host was polite and easy to reach, and being on a bus route was convenient. That was the only upside for me. The place didn't look like the photos, and my studio had a flimsy door that didn't work. Although it had a mini kitchen, there were no mugs or tea and coffee facilities, and the TV was missing. The bed was so uneven and poor that a big dip made sleep impossible. I had to try sleeping at the bottom edge. As a disabled person, that caused me extra pain, and a bed like that wouldn't have been acceptable for anyone. I paid for a studio with a kitchen and bathroom, and it was a terrible night stay. It also wasn't accessible for disabilities at all. The experience was so poor that it's put me off staying here.

Anyone with the door code can enter, since there was no lock on the inside. We were so worried about sleeping there that we blocked the door with a cabinet. The room bore little resemblance to the pictures and was filthy, with an unbelievable amount of dust and stains on the bed. The bathroom was disgusting, so we didn't use the shower at all. I think it should be illegal to rent rooms in that condition.
