Holiday Inn Express Manchester Airport

I won’t stay here again. This experience has soured me on Holiday Inn hotels and IHG in general. I’ve been a member for about 10 years, usually at platinum level though my account moves between platinum elite and Diamond membership, and I also have a corporate IHG account. I know the rules and terms for these hotels. I was here on business on the 11th November 2025. In December, Parking eye sent me a fine for unpaid parking. I always pay, so I checked the invoice and found the hotel hadn’t sent one. When I called, they said parking hadn’t been added to my saty and there was nothing they could do, so I’d have to pay. I told them I’d said I had a vehicle and written the registration on my check-in form, but they still wouldn’t get Parking eye to cancel the fine. I’d stayed the before and again the following week, when I was charged for parking. I then realised they also never email invoices for my stays, as requested. I’ll never use this hotel again and will probably make more use of my Hilton Honors account. I get parking fines all the time as part of my job, and if one is my own doing, fare enough. But this one was genuinely the hotel’s fault, and the manager has been useless at understanding the issue or helping.

We paid £58 for one night, breakfast included, and felt it was great value. Parking was extra at £14 for an overnight stay. The staff were very polite and super helpful, and the onsite restaurant and bar were reasonably priced. For an early flight, they also offer a to go breakfast, which was a great touch. We had the main buffet, with an excellent range to suit different tastes. We were looking for a place near Manchester Airport before our morning flight. It’s an excellent location, only 10- 15 mins from the airport depending on your terminal and parking. The room was superb, spacious, and very clean. We’d definitely stay again when flying from Manchester Airport airport. Thanks to all the staff for getting our holiday off to a great start.

We went everywhere by public transport, so bear in mind the nearest bus stop is about a 8 to 15-minute walk away, and buses only come every 30 minutes. That could be awkward with heavy luggage. The other downside was internet: both mobile reception and the hotel Wi-Fi were very weak. Otherwise, it was a very comfortable stay. The team were friendly and helpful, and we felt welcome right away. Even though it’s close to the airport, the room was remarkably quiet, and the beds made for a restful night. Housekeeping was professional, thorough, and honest. The bathroom was great, and the room had all the basics, including a TV, hairdryer, tea, and mugs. Breakfast was good, a solid, typical English standard.

The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I had one of the best nights’ sleep I’ve had at a Holiday Inn Express. At breakfast around 6:30am, the area was very busy, but Rhiannon was kind, supportive, and attentive. I felt a little awkward sitting in the middle of the room, and she quickly reassured me that I could sit wherever I felt most comfortable. That small gesture meant a lot. Breakfast was insane, especially the hash browns, sausages, and beans. I woke up a very happy boy! I was warmly welcomed as soon as I arrived by Moshin, who showed me where everything was and made me feel at home. When I said I was from Scotland, he was genuinely interested in the history I shared. We also chatted about how I grew up in Peterborough, so technically I’m English! That personal conversation made a lovely first impression. The staff were incredible, the food was excellent, and the location is perfect, super close to the airport. I had a fantastic stay and couldn’t fault it. I’d absolutely recommend it for Manchester or if you’re catching a flight.
