The pub is gorgeous, full of distinctive old features, and has lovely outdoor spaces for sunny weather. We held a baby shower there for my sister and Dean, with a private room for the afternoon. The team were great and nothing was too much trouble. We ordered assorted pizzas and sides as a buffet, and it was all delicious. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting or looking for a special, unusual venue.

We came for dinner while we were nearby for the weekend, and the Christmas decorations made the place feel really cosy. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Dean looked after us attentively and checked that everything was okay. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. The steak and ale pies were among the best we’ve had. Definitely worth a visit, and I’d strongly recommend it!

Dean, who served us and owns the place, was lovely and gave us all the attention we needed. The food lived up to the pictures that brought us to Abbots fireside. I had the steak and ale pot pie, which was insanely good, possibly the best pie I’ve ever had. My girlfriend ordered the curry and loved it too. We were away for the weekend and wanted somewhere to eat near our accommodation. I’d absolutely recommend coming here.

The owners made our visit extra special because we were celebrating my partner’s birthday. I’m so grateful, it really made her day. We stayed in a king bedroom with a lovely four-poster bed and both slept brilliantly. The property has a lot of character, the setting is lovely, and the welcome and service were second to none. We’d happily return.

The food was outstanding, and the private room was perfect for our group of ten. We were celebrating my husband’s 65th birthday and had been let down elsewhere, but the owners and staff went out of their way to fit us in at short notice on a Saturday night. We’re very grateful for their help with the celebration and highly recommend the place. Thank you from the Bashford family.
