The hosts, Adrian and Sharon, do a great job, and we’d definitely stay again. It was very quiet and convenient for the Cathedral, city centre, pubs and restaurants. We enjoyed the breakfast options.

Be clear about which place you’re booking. I was confused by the great reviews until I realized I’d stayed in the White House Apartment, not the White House B&B. The ‘website link’ goes to the apartment website. It’s a great location, and better communication could make it a good place to stay, but our experience with Kevin, who runs the apartment, was disappointing. Communication was poor from beginning to end. When the lights and heating stopped working, nobody answered or called back to help. I emailed Kevin to explain how disappointed I was and asked for a response, but never got one.

It’s a quiet, very good B&B, close to the Marlowe Theatre and handy for Canterbury’s many bars and restaurants. There’s parking nearby, and you can ask the owner about the cheap 24 hour parking concession. Highly recommended!

We were lucky to find a vacancy at the White House, and it was a gem. The rooms were clean and quiet, and breakfast was perfect. Adrian was a charming host, knowledgeable and entertaining. No need to keep looking at other options.

The owner was so friendly and helpful, and I’d have no hesitation about staying again. The hotel was lovely, with clean, well-decorated rooms. It’s in a great spot in the city centre, tucked down a small side street.
