Our room was amazing, spacious, and romantic, and I had a really lovely stay with my partner. I’m not sure why some reviews are negative, because our experience felt perfect. I also liked that there weren’t staff around, which made the place feel more private and cosy for us. I’m looking forward to staying again.

I booked in December and arrived last week in July, only to discover the place had closed in January. Nobody told me. I’d driven 200+ to a hotel that wasn’t operating anymore, which caused a lot of unnecessary stress. Coffi co should be ashamed. Avoid it if you see it advertised. Luckily I had enough money to find and book another hotel, otherwise I’d have been left on the streets of Cardiff. An absolute joke and a really bad experience.

The host was brilliant, kept in touch well, answered questions quickly, and went above and beyond to fit our requests. The rooms are huge and elegantly styled without extra fuss. It’s in a lovely area with plenty of coffee shops, pubs, and places to eat, right across from a beautiful park. The Castle and City Centre are an easy walk away. We’ll book here again next time we’re in Cardiff.

The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was warm with a decent shower. But the room needs some TLC. Our bedroom was cold, one side of the curtains was hanging off, there was an unpleasant stain on the headboard, and the bathroom blind was broken. The TV didn’t work. We could have reported it, but didn’t want the hassle. The main door lock was very loose, so we didn’t feel very safe. Getting in was stressful too: I got bombarded with about ten emails on the booking day telling me to download an app, use a certain door, and get a room card. None of that worked when we arrived, though a friendly man gave us a key. It’s a 15-minute walk into Cardiff, and the nearby pubs and restaurants seemed decent, but we were only there one night and spent our time in the centre.

The bed was comfy, the bathroom and shower were great, and the arrival system was very straightforward. There’s a great pub right nearby, and I liked the artwork. My main issues were the broken curtains, which were hard to close, and the internet TV wouldn’t work because the connection was slow or bad. Looking for the TV controls and trying to sort the curtains turned up a LOT of dust. Otherwise, a really pleasant, cheap and cheerful room for a quick stay.
